To Know Them Is To Love Them uplifts families of children with disabilities through compassionate support, empowering resources, and advocacy rooted in love.
We imagine a world where every child is celebrated, every caregiver feels seen and supported, and no family walks this path alone. Because when you truly know our children—their brilliance, strength, and spirit—you can’t help but love them.

Real Stories. Real Impact.
A Mother’s Story - The Heart Behind the Mission
I didn’t always have the answers. But I had love, and I had my son.
My son Davon is 8 years old now, but our journey began when he was just 2. I saw signs I didn’t understand, and by 3, he was diagnosed with autism. I was overwhelmed, confused, and heartbroken — not because of who he was, but because I didn’t yet know how to help him in a world that didn’t make space for his brilliance.
The beginning was the hardest — feeling lost in appointments, resources that didn’t fit, and a deep fear of the unknown. But something in me said, “You are all he has.” And that was enough. I fought for him, every single day. Because he deserves to be treated fairly. He deserves to be seen.
Davon is the sweetest little boy you’ll ever meet. I always say, “To know Davon is to love him.” He’s full of joy, funny without even trying, and so eager to learn. He lights up when someone tells him they’re proud — and he gives every effort his all, even when he’s hard on himself. Against all odds, Davon plays football. At just 8 years old, with his diagnosis, he shows up with courage, heart, and determination every time. I couldn’t be more proud of him.
That’s why I created To Know Them Is To Love Them. I’ve been the mom who didn’t know where to turn. I’ve been the parent who just needed one person to care. I still have those moments — but the fight in me now burns for other families too. No one should ever feel alone in this journey. I want families to feel the love, support, and understanding I had to fight so hard to find.
You are not alone. You have me.
I love what I’ve done for my child — and I know I can help with yours. I'm not just here for your child — I'm here for you too. Because when we’re supported as parents, we can move mountains for our kids.
Yours truly in support,
Paula
